Over the winter break there have been almost no waves from two days after christmas up until now. We have surfed the main break as much as we could and we went to a couple other beaches for bodysurfing, boogie boarding, and paddle boarding. Right now my moms parents, and the evendens are visiting. Marirose and I have been boogie boarding a lot, and Dawson has been paddle boarding with me and my dad. Dawson took some really cool pictures of me surfing and I got some cool pictures of him paddle boarding.
Here's some pictures of Dawson, Dad, and me:

Two days ago went to Alta Vista, a sacred spiritual walk by a river. There were petroglyphs on almost every other rock and there were even some shrines with bread, candles, and flowers. There was a pool that you could jump or slide into off the rocks. The water was really cold so I didn't go in past my knees. In the little pools above the big one there were hundreds of black little tadpoles. There was one rock slide that griffin slid down into a shallow little pool. Marirose and Griffin are the only ones that went in the water past their waist. Below are some pictures of Alta Vista and the walk to get to there.

Last night we went to San Pancho, a beachfront town just north of Sayulita. We took my two shortboards, the 6'0" tri fin and the 5'10" quad fin, two boogie boards, and my new skimboard. The waves in Sayulita can be really big, but not very powerful. The waves in San Pancho are really big, and really powerful. I was boogie boarding and a huge wave was breaking in front of me. It broke and I tried to catch the foamer, a wave that has already broken. When it hit me I held onto the boogie board and the wave held me and the boogie board down for almost ten seconds! When I popped back up a smaller foamer was rolling towards me and I rode it back to the beach. When we got back to Sayulita we ate dinner at Medusa, a restaurant not far from where we are staying. After dinner we went home and got shovels buckets and dog dishes. Four years ago we buried a huge whale bone and we wanted to dig it up tonight. We walked over to where we thought it was buried. We started taking turns with the shovels and after about an hour in a half we had a six foot deep hole in the sand. We didn't find it last night so now we have to try again today, wish us luck!
